"Ivanka Trump brand tops Amazon Best Sellers list."

Well, of course.

Here, if you want to get in on the trend, buy some through the Althouse Amazon Portal.

Oh, quelle surprise!

When will the anti-Trumpers ever figure out that in going after the Trump & his administration that they're pissing in the faces of half the country? Half of the country is an awful lot of people. If even a fraction of them get riled up enough to do something, like buy Ivanka Trump's clothing line, it can have a large effect.

Hey, Democrats! Hey, Lefties! Just Chill! Let Trump wear out his welcome for a while as President, & then go after him. This 7x24 attack on everything Trump just sets up a dynamic where everyone in the country is presented with two stark choices -- Trump or you nasty-ass Stalinist clowns.

Guess who wins that comparison?

I wonder if Nordstrom's will release its sales figures. They maybe right insofar as where their stores are located but the other retailers claim for dumping the brand seems a bit more sketchy. The perfume on Amazon's list is one thing but the apparel lines are something else.

Nordstroms, like Whole Foods, seems to be an identity brand and its customers may force this sort of change.

Maybe it will settle down but I expect that more is coming as the Trump agenda starts to take hold.

Tillerson has begun with State. He has begun to clean out the political appointees.

While Tillerson was on his first overseas trip at the G20 in Bonn, Germany, his aides told the entire staff in the offices of the deputy secretary of state for management and resources and the State Department counselor that their current assignments were prematurely coming to an end, according to senior aides.

Staff who worked for the head of the latter division, State Department Counselor Kristie Kenney, was told Tillerson does not intend to keep her position. Kenney was one of the last remaining senior officials at the department, having served as an ambassador under Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and is expected to retire next week. An aide to Tillerson told CNN, "no decisions have been made" about scrapping the offices permanently.
US Secretary of State meets Russian counterpart

Altogether, the move left some two dozen career foreign and civil service officers scrambling for reassignments within the department.

Hopefully there will be none.

How would Althouse have treated that headline, and that story, if it had been the New York Times?

It is one size, of one perfume product.

And with 49% of the Amazon "reviewers" giving it 1 star.

Althouse, as is her wont, would pick out a couple of pithy comments. "Smells as bad as her father's administration," is a top comment right now. "Smells like old lady," is a non-political comment.

And as is to be fully expected, there was this sort of comment: "I bought this because of the abuse Ivanka is putting up with as a seller here on Amazon. Shame on the unhinged left and shame on Amazon for letting this abuse stand."

And of course, to post a "verified" review, you have to buy the product. But even at that, it is only a $30 cover charge, to make a political statement if you wish to do so. A Keep America Great hat is close to that.

@Michael K,

There were waaaaay too many State staffers complicit in Hillary's malfeasance while at State. While they were in theory Foreign Service, in fact they were acting as Hillary's political appointees.

They gotta go. How in the hell can the Trump administration trust them?

In which presidential administration has that not been true? In, say, the last 200 years?

In the case of Trump, going after him would seem as though it would be a case of "going after about 35% of the country." Trump got less than 46% of the vote. And it is pretty clear to me, based on my own unscientific view, that at least 10% of Trump voters were like me; voting for a hateful and ridiculous man who was the lesser of two evils.

The Establishment Right went into a tizzy about this and essentially placed themselves back into the "Useless" category they had started crawling out of during the election.

When the Left drives people who they disagree with out of business, the only rational POLITICAL response is to publicise it and make them prosper as a result. That put a very quick end to the 'shut down small business people who dare disagree with us' strategy over gay marriage. Some people they attacked did very well as a result.

Chuck sucks at math, too. If you subtract ten percent of Trump's voters it doesn't yield 35%, you idiot. 46% less ten percent nets 41.4%, not 35%, dumbass.

Tales of a Real Republican….

I was watching the evening news shows, in the den in my robe as I usually do, drinking a fine cognac and masturbating to Rachel Maddow, when the screen flashed with an image of Ivanka Trump: holy crap, did I come fast...!

I have to admit, I DO hate her father, but when I fuck Real Republican Men in the ass I often imagine Ivanka sticking a finger up my butt, which just proves I'm not gay, I just fuck Real Republican Men in the ass sometimes...

Fucking Real Republican Men in the ass is sort of like our Secret Club Handshake, not like the Trump circle-jerkers who jerk off in circles: man, do I despise them...

I stand firm in my beliefs. I made a point NOT to use Althouse's Portal when I purchased my Ivanka panties from Amazon: I will certainly not support a woman who isn't smart enough to despise Trump. There IS no 'cruel neutrality' -- there are only Real Republicans and the idiot masses who don't listen to them....

My only complaints with the Ivanka panties are: one, she didn't wear them herself before selling them, and two, the fit is pretty tight: it is a good thing I shave my balls...

Hey, I didn't attack Barron Trump. I never said he was autistic. I have no knowledge of that. Other people have done that, and what was remarkable was how the Trump family lawyers went after them. Like going after a fly, with a bazooka. And how petrified everyone seems to be, of the topic, based on Trump family litigation threats.

I did say that the story, far from being a mere personal attack on an undeserving boy, shed light on President Trump's own history of bizarre statements on the discredited "link" between childhood vaccines and autism. And I thought that part was interesting, particularly at a time when the Trump transition team was floating rumors about a new federal Trump vaccine safety commission (we already have about a half dozen of them), and Trump was entertaining a meeting with vaccine nutjob Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in Trump Tower.

While I like Ivanka's clothing line it doesn't fit in with my lifestyle or the area in which I live. Pretty and flattering, but no opportunity to ever wear it.

Buying perfume on line is probably one of the worst decisions a person can make. Perfume reacts differently to each person's skin and chemistry. While the Ivanka perfume might be wonderful on one person, it can really stink on another. The only way to buy perfume is to put on a sample, walk around for a while and then do a smell test with yourself and your closest friend/significant other.

You boys who call my brand of Republicans pussies for fearing to fight hard and dirty?

Dust Bunny Queen said...

You don't understand how Amazon works. Many of the items, like the Ivanka line are not owned by or even facilitated by Amazon. Amazon.com is often merely a portal through which people can access the actual seller. As such...Amazon has not much to lose if people decide not to use the portal and everything to gain by raking off a bit of each sale for not doing much work or having much involvement.

Amazon, like the river, is a huge conduit to products, services and streaming media. No matter how mad you are at Trump, most people will still continue to use the Amazon portal because it has become ubiquitous. And because most people will be more concerned about their own convenience than ridiculous posturing.

I don't think this dumping of Ivanka's line(s) was customer driven. It was too sudden and concerted for that.
Now, a privately owned firm absolutely has a right to do that, however foolish it might be, but I question it for publicly traded firms. I think the hired managers' fiduciary duties to the stockholders should trump (hah!) their personal political feelings.
So, I think this was/is an outrage, and Kellyanne was quite right to rise up in wrath.

(And no, she did not "endorse" Ivanka's lines; just advocated that we fight political fire with political fire. Turnabout is a bitch, isn't it?)

Without any evidence that Chuck ever attacked Baron, the same wierdos double and triple down on their false narrative. That is exactly what their leader Trump does. This captures sockpuppet and "lifelong republican" Chuckie perfectly: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/157358914491/imaginary-news

Key grafs: "When I was younger, I would have automatically assumed that I was right and the Huffington Post was either intentionally lying or deluded. My more mature understanding of the world is that most people are hallucinating most of the time. We live in our own personal movies. This is a perfect example. Millions of Americans looked at the same press conference and half of us came away thinking we saw an entirely different movie than the other half. Many of us saw Trump talking the way he normally does, and saying the things he normally says. Other people saw a raving lunatic, melting down.

Those are not the same movies.

So how can we know who is hallucinating in this case? The best way to tell is by looking for the trigger for cognitive dissonance. In this case, the trigger is clear. Trump’s unexpected win forced the Huffington Post to rewrite their mental movies from one in which they were extra-clever writers to one in which they were the dumbest political observers in the entire solar system."

The leftists have trapped themselves in their own universe where Trump lost, the lefties are brilliant, and dragging children into political arguments is actually okay.

Keep it up Sockie and Chuckie.

Bill Clinton's Presidency was the precise moment that the pressure began building for a Trump presidency. It didn't have to be that way. You don't seem to get it. The vendor is not the issue, the issue is that people won't be pushed around by progs. I would be very surprised indeed if Amazon chose smug virtue signaling over profits.

And lets not forget the attacks on Jeff Sessions grandchild at his hearing.

Nazi Germany? You illiterate shit. Are you talking about our recovery from hyperinflation? Hideous terms of a treaty? Black shirts breaking windows in the streets? The similarity is very mistakable unless you have a very weak understanding of Nazi Germany.

Hey, if we are the Nazi's, can we mandate that all stores carry Ivanka's wares as well as teaming up with the Italians?

The Italians are useless in battle but they throw the very best parties. Whatever we do, let's not let them take on Ethiopia again. I am not in mood to pull their chestnuts out of the fire again.

Unfortunately for sockpuppet and the lefties, Ivanka does not offer a Crucifix floating in urine for purchase or a Virgin Mary painting covered in dung.

Fabi: "Sock Puppet can't differentiate between a fair assessment of Chelsea's visage -- who is an adult and a public figure -- and the baseless disparagement of a ten year old child."

To be fair and consistent, if you go back and view the Limbaugh TV show clip where that occurred in 1992, the bit was about what was "in" and what was "out" in terms of the White House and its occupants.

The "out" was listed as a "cute dog" (Millie), the "In" was listed as cute "kid" (Chelsea).

The pictures were supposed to occur in sequence but instead of the Chelsea pic the technicians put up Millie's. Rush immediately said effectively, "no no, that' not the kid" which led to the technicians cycling immediately to the next pic, Chelsea.

So compare and contrast.

Also note that this is the one "kid" attack the left uses as a counter-balance to their unhinged repeated attacks on multiple republican families over the decades.

But hey, Nazi kids have it comin', eh sockpuppet?

I don't find Chelsea interesting enough to attack. Despite all the attempts of the media to portray her as some sparkling princess, she's dull and vapid.

You might have missed the absolute, er, jewel she deposited on the Milo thread. She thinks that Ivanka married an Orthodox Jew and converted to Judaism herself solely to shield her future presidential candidate daddy from upcoming charges of anti-Semitism. And daddy, of course, engineered the whole thing.

That's not crazy talk at all!

It's quite a strategy, but Trump clearly didn't take it far enough. Why didn't he force Tiffany to marry a Hispanic, Eric to marry a black woman and Don Jr. to marry a Dave Jr. in order to discourage charges of anti-Mexican, anti-black and anti-gay bigotry?

I'll bet he has already arranged for Barron's future marriage to a Muslim girl.

You people? You are responding to me, suckapuppy. With your stupid Limbaugh dog story, as if anybody believes it. You are an anti-semite and racist. It comes through loud and clear. Ever have a Jew or African American over for dinner? Ever even ride in a car with one? Yeah, didn't think so.

Awww come on, the golden showers story was funny. It was funny because it is easy to imagine a slightly different universe in which it would have happened. Say a universe where Trump is just as tightly wound, with all his current tics, but he has an unfortunate tendency to fall off the wagon every now and then. That Trump, for sure, would have done it.

Tales of a Real Republican….

I don't get how people can misunderstand me. It's not like I ever fucked a ten-year-old boy in the ass. Well, one with autism, anyway....

Some boys just realize they are Real Republicans at a younger age, that's all. They are looking for wise, stern guidance, and my hands on their slender hips while I bang them from behind sets the example of Leadership they sorely need...

What happens when a young boy gets fucked in the ass by an older gray-haired, pony-tailed liberal? They become gay and liberal, that's what. They need to learn that you can be fucked in the ass and still grow up straight and respectable, that you can then hold your head high as a Real Republican...

It's not easy, living a Life of Example. And -- sure -- I've made some mistakes: I didn't realize that one young boy was Mexican because the room was so dark. It's okay, though: I helped get him deported, so it all worked out well in the end...

I am Laslo.

Nope. Titus is a liberal who really likes Obama. Laslo strikes me as libertarian.

"Or, perhaps Laslo is Milo Y."

That would make more sense - except we know that Laslo is a Seattle film maker whose first film just premiered. And I also don't believe Laslo is gay, although I could be wrong. His sexual scenarios usually involve women and anal sex.

exiledonmainstreet, green-eyed devil said...

I think - I'm not sure - that Laslo once posted here as BetaMax 3000. Very similar styles and humor.

The only person here who routinely pretends to be someone else is Inga, who has posted under many aliases and is currently calling herself sockpuppet55. She very easy for me to spot because of her writing style, dishonesty, and stunning stupidity, which cannot be hidden no matter what she calls herself. Ritmo regularly changes his nic but does not pretend to be a different person.

I'm always startled by people who accuse others of being socks just because of similar political positions. ARM doesn't sound like r/v or ritmo or sunsong. Drago and Fen and Michael K. and Achilles all sound different.
